"Where Do You Draw The Line?" - interactive Webinar

Friday 6th December 12:00 - 12:45pm (GMT) Online/Teams

Join Harriet Smailes, PhD researcher, for an interactive webinar titled "Where Do You Draw the Line?" This session will delve into the sexual violence continuum and emphasize the importance of appropriately challenging "lower-level" behaviours, as well as fostering a deeper understanding of consent and respecting boundaries. Harriet, who is conducting PhD research on university-based approaches to sexual violence response (a project the University of Law is participating in), will guide a thought-provoking discussion aimed at examining our own boundaries and perceptions of sexual violence and consent, with the goal of fostering more respectful and safer environments for everyone.

  • The session will be auto-transcribed and recorded for internal use
  • The session is designed to be interactive, participants will be invited to turn on their cameras but is not compulsory.
  • Interactions will take place via Slido and using the meeting chat. With time allowed, participants may engage using their camera and mic.
  • Mics will be muted at the start of the session.
  • There will be use of some sexually explicit language to address commonly used language alongside technical terminology used by professionals, and descriptions of sexual violence behaviours. This will be explained at the start of the session.

Talk and Q&A - The Honourable Justice Geoffrey

Tuesday 10th December, Time 1:00-2:00pm GMT

Join us for an engaging talk and Q&A session with The Honourable Justice Geoffrey, hosted by one of our current students, Natasha Winn.

This 40-minute talk, followed by an interactive Q&A, will cover key insights into Justice Geoffrey’s career path, an overview of the role of the International Criminal Court (ICC), and examples of the types of cases brought before the ICC. This event offers a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of international justice and the important work of the ICC.
