The University of Law is participating in a significant research project titled "Sexual Violence Support and Resolution Provision in Non-Sexual-Violence-Specialist Organisations: Exploring University-Based Approaches to Sexual Violence Response."
Led by Harriet Smailes (she/her), a PhD researcher at the University of Leicester, the study explores how universities support students impacted by sexual violence. Since 2017, Harriet has worked extensively in the sexual violence sector, supporting survivors in both university and community settings. She has also collaborated with universities across the UK on training and consultancy for sexual violence response, drawing on her expertise to examine the current approaches in place.

Student Participation
The University of Law is supporting the research by inviting eligible students to participate. Participation is entirely voluntary, and students are encouraged to consider this opportunity if they:
- Are currently enrolled at the university.
- Have used, or are currently using, university services or processes related to an incident(s) of sexual violence. This may include counselling services, specialist sexual violence support, or university disciplinary procedures.
If you are interested in being involved in the study or want to know more information, please email Harriet directly on hls44@leicester.ac.uk.
